All items check out for three weeks, except for some new materials that check out for two weeks. These items are labeled as such on the spine.

Fines are 10¢ per day, per item. There is a five-day grace period before fines start accruing, but after five days, the fine reverts to the original due date. Patrons may renew items up to two times online, by phone, or in person, provided that there is no one on hold for that item and that their account balance is less than $5.00.

Patrons who prefer email notifications will receive a friendly reminder email two days before the due date. Once an item becomes two weeks overdue, all patrons will receive a notice either by mail or email; another notice is sent when it is four weeks overdue. When an item is six weeks overdue, all patrons are mailed a final notice and are contacted by phone. Their account is then suspended until the overdue items are returned or replaced, and any fees are paid to under $5.00.

Fines stop accruing when they reach the price of a book. For example, a book that costs $7.99 will not have overdue fees higher than this amount. If a patron loses or damages an item, they will be charged for the cost of the item, plus a $2.00 processing fee to cover the replacement cost of the barcode, spine label, book cover, etc. They also have the option of providing their own replacement of the item, so long as it is in new condition and matches the format of the original material. Patrons do not pay overdue fees for any items they pay to replace.
