On May 16, 2006 the Camden County Board of Commissioners voted to create the county’s Parks and Recreation Department. The first director was hired in October 2006.
Since then, the department has been in the process of developing recreation programs, resources, special events and coordinating the expansion of Community Park. The expansion will include a walking trail, regulation high school track, picnic shelter, a playground and parking areas.
Mission Statement
The Camden County Parks and Recreation Department is committed to coordinating and providing a wide variety of healthy, wholesome activities as well as preserving and maintaining the county’s parks, facilities and open spaces.
