Library staff is still available to assist, Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Updates will be posted on this web page and our Facebook page. Camden Public Library will be closed to answer phone calls on Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day. The library will continue to operate under current COVID-19 restrictions, Tuesday, May 26th until further notice.

Due to current COVID-19 Pandemic restrictions, The Camden Library Board of Trustees meeting has been rescheduled to June 15 at 5:15 pm in the library's community meeting room. The public is invited to attend. For more information, please contact the library at 252-331-2543.

As of 5/12/20, Camden County self-respond rate to the 2020 U.S. Census is at 62.2%.  Let's keep it going!

Did you know, many people fall within hard to count population such as senior citizens, children under 5, racial and ethnic minorities, college students, and military. It is important that they are counted, too. Being under-counted is a real cost to our community. Remember census data supports funding for schools, roads, emergency services, senior services, economic development and more.
The U.S. Census Bureau made the 2020 Census easier by including online response services. They are encouraging everyone to respond online or by phone. 
  • Go to https://my2020census.gov. It only takes 10 minutes of your time.
  • If you do not have internet access, you can respond by phone, 7 days a week, 7am - 2am EDT
    • 1-844-330-2020 for English
    • 1-844-468-2020 for Spanish
  • If you haven't receive your Census invitation, all you need is your physical address to respond online or by phone.

The U.S. Census is meant to represent everyone, so it's crucial everyone is counted.


Camden County Public Library will be closed at the end of business, March 16, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. This closing will be in effect until further notice.

The library offers a full array of digital content including eBooks and eAudiobooks that can be enjoyed from home by anyone with a East Albemarle Regional Library Card.

Library staff are available to answer questions during the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Please note: If you have library materials out, please do not concern yourself with overdue items or fines. NO OVERDUE FINES will be charged at this time. Our preference is for library patrons to please keep the materials they have out, rather than returning them to one of our book drops.
