Summer Reading Program is going to look a little different this year. Our programs, which will be held outside to maximize social distancing, won't begin until July. These will be optional programs, and take-home crafts will also be available for those who are not comfortable attending. It is up to you how much you would like to participate! However, we thought it would be a good idea to allow kids to pick up their reading logs early so they can get started! Reading is the backbone of this nation-wide program, and engaging your child's brain through this and other activities is an important step in preventing "summer slide" between school years.

If you haven't collected a readling log, or if you would rather participate remotely, you can register on our Virtual Summer Reading Program. Click on the image below to access the website.

This site allows for you or your child to log thier minutes read, while still collecting entries for the Grand Prize drawing and unlocking some fun games and badges. If you've already registered for the traditional reading logs, you can still use this website to track progress. We will cross-reference those that are already on our list.

We're looking forward to continuing our tradition of a GREAT Summer Reading Program!

Phase 2 of the COVID-19 restrictions:

As of June 8, 2020, Camden County Public Library is offering curbside service only. Patrons may request library materials over the phone or via the EARLibrary website.

No printing, copying or faxing services are available at this time. The library and community meeting room will continue to be closed to the public until further notice.

Staff will be on-site to answer patron questions and process requests from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday.

You can request materials by calling the library at 252-331-2543, or by visiting www.earlibrary.org and using your library card number and PIN. If you do not have a PIN or do not remember it, please call the library for assistance. Once your request has been processed, library staff will call you to make an appointment for pick-up.

Appointments will be scheduled in 15 minute intervals to allow for a contact-free experience. Your materials will be waiting on a designated table outside of the library doors, in a plastic bag with your checkout receipt attached.

For your safety and ours, please return all materials to the book drop outside of the library. Staff will wear masks and properly sanitize hands before and after handling all materials. There will be a 96-hour quarantine for all returned materials, but no overdue fees will result from this waiting period.

Thank you for your continued support of Camden County Public Library!
