  • Annual Easter Egg Hunt

    Camden Parks and Recreation Annual Easter Egg Hunt.

    Located at the Camden County Community Park (near Camden Intermediate School)

    Free Admission! Prizes, Coloring Contest, and Bounce Houses. Easter Egg Hunt begins at 11:30 a.m. For ages 10 and under.

  • 2018 Paddle to the Border

    15th Annual Paddle to the Border

    This 15th annual event celebrates the canal’s rich history, which dates to 1763 when George Washington’s land company first surveyed the swamp before commissioning the waterway’s construction. In the 19th century, the canal’s dense wetlands provided refuge for slaves traveling the Underground Railroad before continuing their journey north

    Interested in participating? Like spring’s arrival, enthusiasm for Paddle for the Border begins building early.

    Event Date:  Saturday, May 5th, 2018.

    Registration opens January 2, 2018. The event is limited to the first 300 participants and fills up quickly due to its popularity.

    Open Registration : January 2 - April 6, 2018. (Online, Walk In or Drop Off, Mail) Registration Fee: $40 per person (not refundable unless event is canceled)

    Late Registration : April 7, 2018 - Until Full.  (Online Only)  Add $10 Late Fee.

    Camden Parks & Recreation will have Girls Volleyball Registration Wednesday, August 29th and Thursday, August 30th from 5 pm - 8 pm.

    League Ages: 7-10 and 11-15
    Cost: $35 ($20 Non Resident Fee)

  • Dismal Day 2018

    Join the Dismal Swamp State Park for the 6th annual Dismal Day! Festivities will run from 10 am-2 pm and include craft vendors, food, music, cultural exhibits, pontoon boat rides on the historic Dismal Swamp Canal, wagon rides, scavenger hunt, and much more!
     
    A 5K Fun Run/Walk will start at 9 am. Registration for the 5K will be at 8:30 am. Do not miss this annual family festival celebrating history and nature! Free and open to the public.
     
    The Dismal Swamp State Park and Camden TDA are seeking nature-based vendors for the 6th annual Dismal Day. If you are interested, please contact Lisa Doepker at (252) 771-6593 or email at lisa.doepker@ncparks.gov.
     

  • 2018 Youth Basketball Registration Convenience Nights

    Register for the 2018 Youth Basketball Season! Convenience Nights are as follows:

    Monday, October 29, 5pm - 8pm and Tuesday, October 30, 5pm - 8pm.

    Ages: Boys 5-16 and Girls: 5 -13.

    Registration Fee $35 (maximum per family) $70.00 

    (out of county fee: $20.00)

  • Trunk or Treat 2018

    The Camden County Senior Center and Parks & Recreation Department presents 2018 Trunk or Treat. This will take place at the Camden Senior Center Parking Lot on Wednesday, October 31st from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm. 

    Car trunks will be decorated with various themes or stories and filled with lots of candy and other treats. 

    A safe atmosphere for parents to bring their children to Trick or Treat.

  • Veteran's Day Recognition Ceremony

    Honoring all those who have served. 2018 Veterans' Day Recognition Ceremony will take place on the Camden County Historic Courthouse Lawn. All Veterans, students, and the community are invited to join in a tribute to Veterans and Military Service Members.

  • South Mills Christmas Parade

    Come out and join us for the South Mills Christmas Parade Saturday December 1st at 11:00 a.m. Parade starts at the drawbridge on Main St. and ends in front of Paradise grocery. For parade participation, click on the link below to download an application.

  • Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

    Join us for our annual Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration featuring "Town Crier", Mr. Alex Leary and the Camden UMC "Strummers".

    Refreshments provided for all afterwards at the Camden County Senior Center.

    Please bring canned food items to be donated to the local food pantry.
