SPECIAL MEETING - NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with NCGS 160D-107 & NCGS 160D-601, that the Camden County Board of Commissioners will hold two public hearings on Monday, June 9, 2025 at 7:00 P.M. in the boardroom of the Camden Public Library located at 118 NC Hwy 343 North in Camden, NC for the following:

1. To consider excluding transfer plats from a temporary subdivision moratorium in the County of Camden in accordance with Section 2.3.24 of the Unified Development Ordinance. 
2. To consider rescinding Ordinance 2024-06-02 Establishing a Moratorium Delaying the Approval of Residential Subdivisions and Multifamily Use in the County of Camden.

The purpose of the hearings is to receive public input and to discuss a possible temporary 18-month moratorium ordinance on County development approvals of subdivisions and multifamily housing projects, with the exemption of Transfer Plats in accordance with Section 2.3.24 of the Unified Development Ordinance, as a result of limited water production and wastewater treatment capacity and to allow the County to finalize design and construct new water and wastewater treatment facilities. Should the Board approve the 18-month moratorium, the existing 30-month moratorium could be rescinded.

Set Public Hearing for July 7, 2025 - Ordinance 2025-07-01; UDO 2025-06-181 Text Amendment to the language of the Camden County Unified Development Ordinance to include Recreation/Entertainment Indoor and Outdoor, Event Venue Use
