1) NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO APPROVE SALE OF CAMDEN COUNTY REAL PROPERTY
The Camden County Board of Commissioners will conduct a public hearing at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as practical, on November 7, 2022 in the boardroom of the Camden Public Library to receive public input on the conveyance of a fee simple interest in real property from the County of Camden (The County) to the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). NCDOT has begun the process of purchasing land and easements for the widening of State Route 1223/1224 (Old Swamp Road) & State Route 1218/1227 (South Mills Road) from South Mills, NC to Moyock, NC. A portion of County property has been identified as being necessary for the construction of this highway improvement. Subject property described in Deed Book 157, page 432, Camden County Registry, contains approximately 1.00 acres of which 0.013 acres is being acquired as right of way, leaving 0.987 acres remaining on the left with access to Old Swamp Road and Griffin Road. Also being acquired is a permanent utility easement containing approximately 0.022 acres and a temporary construction easement containing approximately 0.019 acres. The total contingent offer for the referenced property based on fair market value is $1,175.00.
2) NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING - REQUEST FOR ZONING MAP AMENDMENT SANDY HOOK ROAD
Pursuant to Article 151.2.2.6 of the Camden County Unified Development Ordinance, the Camden County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 7:00 PM or soon thereafter as the agenda will allow. The meeting will be held in the boardroom of the Camden Library Building at 118 NC Hwy 343 N. On the agenda for consideration is Ordinance 2022-11-01, a rezoning application (UDO 2022-09-05) from Planning Department to rezone seven parcels of land, approximately 6.2 total acres, located at 887, 885, 883, 921, 921A, 921B, 907 and 919 Sandy Hook Road in the Shiloh Township. The request is for a zoning map amendment from Village Commercial (VC) to Neighborhood Residential (NR). The meeting will be livestreamed to the county website and a copy of the plans and supporting documentation is available at the Camden County Planning Office or from the Camden County website (camdencountync.gov) on the home page. The public is invited to attend and make comments to the board. After the public hearing any changes may be made to the application.
