  • Library Cloud Slime Workshop

    Bring home your very own cloud slime at this workshop! We will be creating cloud slime from scratch and discussing the science behind slime.

    This event is free and open to the public. It is open to children of all ages, with parental supervision necessary for children under 6.

    The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will meet at 6:00 PM in the Camden County Center for Active Adults.

  • Census Day at the Library

    Join us at the Camden County Public Library for “Census Day at the Library” on Feb 10 from 11am-4pm.

    The U.S. Census Bureau is hiring for a variety of temporary jobs, predominately census takers and supervisory staff, with flexible hours including part time and full time, with pay starting at $15.50/hour in Camden County and the surrounding areas. To be eligible you must be at least 18 years old, have a valid Social Security number, be a U.S. citizen, and have an email address.     An educational storytime with a local park ranger. Ages 5 and up.

    This program is free and open to the public.

    The Camden County Board of Commissioners will hold its Annual Board Retreat on March 5, 2020 at 9:00 AM.  The Retreat will be held at the Camden County Library, located at 104 Investor’s Way, Camden, NC 27921.  The Board will receive updates in regard to ongoing projects and may consider taking action on future projects.

  • Board of Commissioners

    The Camden County Board of Commissioners and Camden County Board of Education will meet jointly on May 28, 2020 at 6:00 PM.  The Boards will receive, and may consider for action, a presentation on the proposed new high school.  The Board of Commissioners will also consider a plan for the allocation of CARES Act disbursements which were provided to assist the County in its response to COVID-19.  The meeting will take place at the Camden County High School Media Center located at 103 US Hwy 158 W, Camden, NC.   Citizens and the media may access the meeting via live stream here: https://boe.ccsnc.org/2020/05/20/boe-5-28-20/.

    The Camden County Board of Commissioners will meet on June 1, 2020 at 7:00 PM in the Historic Courtroom for its Regular Meeting.  The Board of Commissioners will also convene as the South Camden Water & Sewer District Board of Directors during the regular meeting.  

    Camden County citizens who wish to participate in the Public Comment portion of the meeting or the Public Hearings on the Proposed FY 2020-2021 Budget and 2020-2024 Capital Improvement Program, may submit their remarks to the Clerk to the Board via email to kdavis@camdencountync.gov no later than 5:00 PM on Monday, June 1st.  Comments will be read aloud and must include the sender’s first/last name and address.

    Citizens who wish to appear in-person before the Board to comment during the Public Hearings will be requested to sign in with the staff member located outside the Board Room and will be called upon to enter at the appropriate time.

    The Camden County Board of Commissioners will hold a Special Meeting on June 16, 2020 at 9:00 AM in the Camden County Historic Courtroom.  The purpose of the meeting will be for consideration of the adoption of a preliminary findings resolution and the authorization of publication of notice of intent to file an application with the LGC in regard to the Bond Referendum for the construction of a new high school. The Board will also discuss plans for the construction of the new Camden County Library.
