Decorate your own trick or treat bag at the library! We will have stencils and stickers available for each child to create their own unique bag to carry on Halloween night.This program is free and open to the public, and is intended for children of all ages.

Learn to Make: Halloween Treats - Thursday, October 19th at 3:30pm!Please note: Registration is required for this program. (Registration is full)Join us for an afternoon of fun and learning with Olivia Patchel from NC Cooperative Extension. Dietary restrictions can easily be accommodated, so please make sure to note your child's particular needs within the registration form.There are only 12 spots available for this program, so you must register early! Any extra applicants will be put on a waiting list if someone cancels, and will be given priority registration for the next cooking program.This program is free and open to the public, and intended for children ages 8 and up. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the library at (252) 331-2543.

10:00am - 02:00pm 9th Annual Dismal Day
Join the Dismal Swamp State Park for the 9th Annual Dismal Day on Saturday, October 21th, 2023! Festivities will run from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and include craft vendors, food, music, bounce house, wagon rides, scavenger hunt, and much more! A 5K Fun Run/Walk will start at 9 a.m.
Call to pre-register or register at the event, starting at 8:30 am. Registration is free! Reserve your Souvenir T-shirt ($), limited quantity available.
This family friendly event welcomes strollers and allows participants to walk/run at their own pace. Do not miss this annual family festival celebrating history and nature!
