This position requires a variety of tasks, including: welcoming and greeting visitors, providing local and statewide travel and tourism information, routing people to their destinations, discuss points of interest and attractions,  administrative duties, answering phones, and related work as apparent or assigned. Assist with completion of standardized records or documents and inquiries including online requests.   General knowledge of methods, approaches and procedures in the travel industry, as well as tourist and historical attractions, are a plus. Experienced working in  Word and Excel to assist in managing inventory.  Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Visitor Center Director.  The Center is open year-round at a minimum of 6 days a week.  A minimum of two weekends per month may be required, including some Sundays seasonally and some holidays.  This is a part time position and hours may vary according to the busier tourist seasons.  Mobility and standing are a requirement to assist with maintaining brochure inventory and working with customers.  Customer Service is the top priority of our mission, providing an inviting and welcoming experience to travelers in North Carolina. Starting at $10 an hour with an increase after completion of 6 month probation period. Open until filled.
