Camden Public Library now has a Seed Library! It's free and all ages can participate. Stop by the library today and see how we can help you with your garden. Please note: Staff members are not garden experts; the library has plenty of self-help books for your gardening needs.

How to use the Seed Library:

Step 1: If you haven't tested your soil this season, take soil sampling information and visit the Cooperative Extension Center to take the next steps.

Step 2: Choose up to five seed packets from our selection. Only take what you can use.

Step 3: Fill out the "Seed Check Out" form and bring it to the circulation desk.

Step 4: Use your phone's camera to scan the QR code on your chosen seeds for more information (this requires a Google account). If you'd prefer, library staff can print this information for you.

Step 5: Grow your plants! Take advantage of the library's collection of gardening books for help and inspiration.

Step 6: If you can, harvest and save the seeds from the plants you have grown, and donate some back to the library to replenish our collection.

Starting April 1, 2024, Camden Public Library is moving from CloudLibrary to E-iNC! E-iNC is a digital library on the Libby App.

Libby was designed to make finding, borrowing, and enjoying free eBooks, audiobooks, comics, and magazines easier than ever. As part of E-iNC Digital Library, you will access to over 30 North Carolina public library systems e-resources.

Unlike CloudLibrary, Libby is accessible through all devices, even Kindle PaperWhites.

All you need to get started is a EARL Library Card and a 4-digit pin number.

How to use Libby

  1. The first time you open Libby, you'll be prompted to find your library (Find EAST ALBEMARLE REGIONAL LIBRARY). Add your library card and 4-digit pin number. If you had signed up for a library at Camden County Public Library, your assigned pin number is usually the last 4-digits of your phone number. If you cannot remember your pin number or need one assigned, please give your library a call at 252-331-2543 for assistance.
  2. Now you can browse your library's collection of ebooks and audiobooks or search for a specific title, author, or series.
  3. When you borrow a book, it's added to your Loans (on your Shelf). You can start reading or listening in the Libby App, or send a book to a Kindle device (U.S. libraries only).
  4. Books are automatically returned on their due dates, so you never need to worry about late fees. You can return books early before their due date by choosing Return.
  5. If you're interested in a book that isn't available right away, you can place a hold and be added to a wait list. Once the book is available, it'll be automatically borrowed and added to your Shelf.
  6. You are limited to 5 loans and 5 holds.

PaperWhite Inclusive

Kindle Paperwhites can access the E-iNC Digital Library.

  1. Download the Libby app and look for "East Albemarle Regional Library".
  2. Check out your title and choose "Send Title to Amazon".
  3. From your Amazon account, select "Send to Paperwhite" and you're on your way!

Happy reading!
