The library accepts donations of materials with the understanding that items added to the collection must meet the same criteria as purchased materials. We accept “gently used” books that are clean and in good condition. Many used books are added to our collection or swapped out to replace well used copies of titles that we already own.

We do not accept the following materials:

  • Periodicals
  • Textbooks
  • Encyclopedias
  • Reader's Digest
  • Advanced Reader Copy (ARC)
  • VHS, CDs, or cassettes

Please do not donate items with missing covers or water, dirt, scribble, or mold damage.

If you have a large number of books to donate, please call ahead as our storage space is limited. The library is unable to offer a tax value for any used books donated to us. We will provide you with a "Charitable Contribution Statement of Donation" form to be used as a receipt for your tax purposes.

Items that are not added to the collection will be added to our on-going Friends of the Library Used Book Sale located in the library. Funds from the book sales are used to support Camden County Library's programming.

You may donate a new book to the library in honor of or in memory of an individual. Please inform the staff of the name of the person so a plate can be added to the front of the book.
