Camden Public Library was one of the twelve libraries to receive a $5,000 minigrant from the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC). These grants are made possible by a Youth Literacy grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.
The Strengthening Communities Through Libraries minigrants will allow the library to provide opportunities for STEAM learning during out-of-school time to children in our community.
The library will be hosting a children's program called "Make It Happen!". There will be four sessions including a story on the day's theme and hands-on learning technology in the form of Makey Make, Little Bits, Cubelets and film editing apps. At the end of the program, participants will receive a copy of Gene Luen Yang's graphic novel "Secret Coders".
