Bird Watching at the Dismal Swamp
The Camden County TDA sponsored a contest to generate a two minute video to promote Camden's history on the Our State Travel App. The creators of the winning video were Morgan White, Nick West, Mikey Shope, and Aimee Chedister. Although all four videos were very good, there could only be one winner. We, along with their teacher, Mr. Chris Whitehurst, and local historian, Alex Leary, invite you to enjoy the students' experiences in the production of these videos.
Camden TDA worked with award winning producer Mike Martine, Eye Candy Digital Video, in 2020 to create a series of videos focused on visitors maintaining & enjoying mental and physical wellness in Camden County by participating and lodging in local options. Enjoy fishing, hiking, biking, paddling, camping, photography, meditation, birding, boating, and so much more in a rural county that features a wealth of gorgeous natural settings. NC Tourism Promotions Grant funds, awarded from the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) Tourism Recovery Committee through Visit NC, were utilized for promotional materials to engage the traveling public and boost tourism.
Camden TDA participates in several co-op advertising opportunities for both print publications and online venues. These include: News & Observer, Our State Magazine, Hampton Roads Magazine, Raleigh Metro Magazine, Carolina Traveler, Coast Host Guest Quest, Carolina Country Magazine, Dozier's Waterway Guide, Cruiser's Net, American Road, and NC Department of Travel and Tourism.
The TDA utilizes free press whenever possible, by alerting both state and local news agencies, as well as radio, social media and printed publications for upcoming events and promotions.
